Yoga is not an exercise it is a practice. Yoga is intended to redirect your entire body to make it all come together. Yoga works the mind combined with the body to make it fall into place, which helps one to improve personal overall life.

Everyone needs a little help one time or another to get their health and thinking on track.  Practicing yoga brings the perfect out of all of us, teaching us to meditate and at the same time, helps relieve that awful stress. Along with helping to relieve stress, yoga strengthens our limbs, mind, refreshes us and even helps us lose weight. Our energy level will increase because we feel better.

When starting to practice Yoga take it slow and easy. Don’t force your body into the different postures all at once.  If you do more than your body says it can do, you could hurt yourself.  Like any exercise program, you need to go slow and stick with it.  You might not notice a difference right away but hang in there and it will come in time.

Don’t go out and buy all new exercising cloths just to practice yoga.  All you need is sweats and a comfortable loose fitting top.  Maybe after awhile you might want to buy a yoga mat but most gyms will furnish them. Wherever you are you can practice using a towel for the floor mat they work just as good.

If you’re a person that can’t stand and if you are not flexible, this can be done in a chair.  So, stand or sit. You can become the person you’ve always wanted to be.  Make those muscles stronger and get that mind into shape along with feeling better and you’ll get to your goal.

Do you have allergies; the noise runs and your eyes water, you are congested, and just don’t feel good especially in the cold weather.  Practicing Yoga can help strengthen and balance the immune system with its slow breathing and posture.  The nervous system will relax and it calms down the virus.

Is it hard for you to fall to asleep or stay asleep?  Try laying on the bed or floor before crawling into bed.  This is a good time to practice meditating to relax.  Lay on your back with the palms up and start at your head.  Start with the head and relax it then the neck and on down slowly until you reach your feet.  Practice as often as possible and this one will help you sleep once you’ve relaxed the whole body.

You can practice Yoga at the office sitting at your desk, in the park anywhere you can meditate. When sitting in a chair twist from side to side, rotate your head side to side and to the front and back, put you arms above your head and stretch. While doing these movements in your chair as you relax shut your eyes and let all thoughts come in and go out.

Stressed and need to learn how to breath slow and then sleep will come, Yoga can be useful for all ages from children to Grandma and Grandpa. The children can practice to strengthen the mind and body by standing beside you and Grandma and Grandpa can sit in the chair.  Strengthening and relaxing along with the meditating is good for everyone. It all gets easier to you.

Yoga can also be good for your heart. The heart will become stronger, Someone who suffers from epilepsy can benefit from practicing Yoga because it stimulates the brain; some people in a study that was taken says it decreased the amount of seizure’s they were experiencing. Yoga is known to help the mentally handicapped by relaxing their minds, letting them think well.

I’ve given you a few ideas on why a person might want to try practicing Yoga so go for it and enjoy

Calcium Suplement and Heart Health of Elderly Women

Calcium supplements are one way to prevent damage due to osteoporosis. But when should we drink sufficient amount of calcium? When our bones are still growing, when we were young.
Calcium supplements that we drink after the elderly is not necessarily helpful, even detrimental, says a study.
Elderly women who used to drink calcium supplements to maintain bone strength have a higher risk of heart attack, said the researchers from New Zealand.
Researchers reminded of their findings is not a reference. But they also said that their findings on the highest risk of heart attack is useful for further learning.
The effect is beyond the benefits of bone obtained from calcium supplements," said the researchers led by Ian Reid of the University of Auckland in the British Medical Journal.
The study involved 1471 post menopausal women who are healthy, around 74-year-old, who also had participated in the study of the influence of calcium for bone density and fracture rate. Among them 732 people given calcium supplements, while another 739 given placebo. They continue to be observed for five years.
It can be seen that heart attacks are more common in those who were taking calcium supplements, in which 31 people of whom suffered a heart attack. while consumed higher among the placebo, only 21 people who experienced it, said the researchers.
The researchers also noted previous research which stated that taking calcium supplements can reduce the risk of heart disease, because the level of bad cholesterol in the blood decreases.
Allegedly, because calcium supplements increase blood calcium levels, this may trigger the formation of deposits in the arteries that cause heart attacks.
This new discovery "is not a conclusion, but offering the possibility that high calcium intake may have adverse effects on heart health," wrote the researchers.
"Currently, the bad effect must be balanced with the benefits of bone calcium, especially in elderly women," they concluded.

Bacteria in the Vagina harm your fetus

Are you pregnant women who experience vaginal discharge? You probably are experiencing bacterial vaginosis, which occurs when bacteria in the vagina is breeding excessively. The symptoms are discharge from the vagina that can be clear or colored, thick, or thin, and smelled fishy.
Vaginal infection could be a serious problem for prospective mothers. The existence of bacterial vaginosis (BV) in the early trimester of pregnancy had double the chance of miscarriage at the end of the second trimester, the researchers said.
BV is an inflammation of the vagina caused by bacteria Gordnerello vaginalis. This condition is known to increase the risk of premature birth. To examine the risk of miscarriage, Dr. Deborah B. Nelson and his colleagues at Temple runs the first session of pregnancy consultation at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. They were all young mothers who were undergoing first trimester of pregnancy, with gestational age averaged 10 weeks.
They all undergo BV test, and 40 percent of them (757 men) tested positive for BV infected, the group said in a medical journal Fertility and Sterility, November 2007.
At the end of the study is known, pregnant women with bacterial levels in the vagina have the highest chance 2.49 times more likely to have a miscarriage at 20 weeks of pregnancy than those whose lowest bacteria levels in the vagina.
"Clinically, it means that in addition to the possibility of premature birth, the existence of BV in high levels also associated with risk of miscarriage for pregnant women with no history of miscarriage before, "said Dr.Nelson.
"We usually do not do BV test to a pregnant mother whose lowest risk," he said. Medication also seems to be ineffective in reducing the risk of premature birth. "We do not know the benefits of taking medication, what can effectively reduce the risk of miscarriage in pregnant women with high levels of BV during pregnancy," he added.
It's good to conduct BV test in early trimester and handle them properly to reduce the risk of miscarriage, Dr.Nelson advice. This is mainly because the early treatment of BV may reduce the subsequent inflammation, which is actually the key factor of premature birth and miscarriage in pregnant women who have Bacterial Vaginosis.

Vasectomy Operations, Is It Painful?

Some men who undergo vasectomy operations are likely to experience pain for months afterward, says a study. Some British researchers revealed that 15 percent of the 593 men who undergo vasectomy operation where they suffer pain in the scrotum, which lasted until the 7th month after the operation.
During vasectomy operation, surgeons cut the channel where the flow of sperm from the testicles into the semen. This is done through a small incision in the scrotum; last few years, the surgeons began using "no scalpel" thechnique, where they make a small hole in the scrotum, without the usual incision.

Men usually experience pain in scrotum after vasectomy, but there is no research found whether the pain is normal after that long.

Now a new study revealed that pain in scrotum after vasectomy is 'really happened'; Dr. Thomas A. Leslie and his colleagues reported in medical journal BJU International, on December 2007.
Still, men need not fear the vasectomy because these findings, says Dr. Leslie from the Churchill Hospital in Oxford. Of those who reported pain in scrotum after vasectomy, only four of them who said the pain worse. The rest was "satisfied" and even "very satisfied" with the results of such treatment, despite experiencing a prolonged discomfort.
"I think men do not have to worry about the pain experienced on scrotum after vasectomy; 'says Leslie." But they should be aware that this operation is not without pain, and discomfort after the operation can be continued. "
These types of vasectomy also gives a different effect. In subjects who undergo non-scalpel vasectomy, the risk of prolonged pain tend to be smaller than those who run the traditional way of vasectomy - about 12 percent compared to 19 percent.
According to the research team, there are a number of reasons why men experience prolonged pain after a vasectomy. They note, 60 percent of men who complained of pain were also felt a lump on one point after the operation - which could indicate the presence of swelling or a mass of inflamed tissue.
Long-term studies currently required to know how the pain after a vasectomy can be lost over time, the researchers concluded.
